Limerick), Ireland, December 2012 …  Adare Manor, the exquisite château-like property located near Limerick and Shannon International Airport, has announced that the historic resort has been named the “World’s Leading Boutique Golf Resort” in the annual World Travel Awards.  Earlier this year it was announced that Adare Manor was named “Ireland’s Leading Hotel” in the World Travel Awards regional competition, which preceded the global award.

“It is a high honor for us at Adare Manor to be named the World’s Leading Boutique Golf Resort -- the only Irish property to have ever won this global award,” said Anita Higgins, general manager.  “Since our establishment as a resort in the 1980s, when the manor house was converted into a five star hotel, we’ve striven to be the very best in all that we do – the best in Ireland, the best in Europe and the best globally.  To have this recognized in this way is extremely rewarding to all of us at Adare Manor.”

One of Ireland’s top golf destinations, Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort features an 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., that has gained international acclaim as one of the renowned golf course architect’s finest creations. The course, which measures 7,453 yards from the championship tees, is a majestic design with rock-walled streams, subtle undulating putting surfaces with the Jones signature cloverleaf bunkers. A 14-acre lake dominates the front nine holes while the back nine are routed through wooded land.
