Cross Country International’s New Virginia Hunt Country Trail Rides

10-04-2007

Millbrook, NY—October 4, 2007— Cross Country International (CCI) is offering an exciting new vacation package through the historic Virginia countryside.  Rich with artifacts from the Civil War era, this tour will bring riders back in time to a period in history when our nation was fighting to define itself.

History will come alive as you explore Virginia’s “Constitution Route” on horseback, just as our forefathers did hundreds of years ago.  Listen to the methodical clip-clop of horses’ hooves against the pathways that twist and turn on land bordering homesteads once belonging to the likes of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.  Imagine yourself as a Confederate soldier while you tour the areas where Generals Grant and Lee met for the first time in heated battle.

The inn where guests will stay is situated on an historic 37-acre Virginia plantation and is sure to please all.  A site on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a Virginia Historic Landmark, the inn is rich in history and charm, and will have guests feeling at home as soon as they arrive.

“After a day of riding through hilly meadows, wooded groves, and along the old confederate railroad tracks, there is no better way to spend the evening than returning to a good meal, fine wine, and the conversation of friends,” said Cross Country International President Karen Lancaster.  “That is exactly what our visitors can look forward to with this vacation package.”
