All Three Ski and Snowboard Competitions in One Day

 

Park City, Utah (February 8, 2008) – Park City Mountain Resort is hosting the world’s best skiers and snowboarders, including Shaun White, Torah Bright and Simon Dumont, in the sixth annual World Superpipe Championships on Saturday, March 8, 2008. This year, the invited skiers and snowboarders will all compete on the same day for a piece of the $90,000 prize purse in Park City Mountain Resort’s Eagle Superpipe, North America’s largest superpipe and the site for the 2002 Winter Games.  

 

“The 2008 World Superpipe Championships is going to be the biggest single-day snow event of the year with both skiing and riding taking place in one day,” said Jim Mangan, director of action sports marketing for Park City Mountain Resort. “You’ll see the best athletes in the world like Tanner and Shaun going huge in the pipe all on the same day.”

 

On Saturday, March 8, all of the top athletes in the world, including male and female snowboarders and male skiers, will compete in the Eagle Superpipe in a best of three-run format for a piece of the $90,000 prize purse. Confirmed athletes include Shaun White, Tanner Hall, Torah Bright, Simon Dumont, Mason Aguirre, Jossi Wells, Hannah Teter, Keir Dillon, J.J. Thomas, and Kelly Clark, among many other star athletes.

 

The 2008 World Superpipe Championships is free to the public and will include live music, food, and giveaways. The event is held in Park City Mountain Resort’s Eagle Superpipe, which is located just above the First Time and Three Kings Lifts. 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM: Women's Snowboard Competition - 12 Women, 3 Runs

 

12:30 PM - 2:00 PM: Men's Snowboard Competition - 16 Men, 3 Runs

 

3:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Men's Ski Competition - 16 Men, 3 Runs
