Getting credit for ff miles when the partner airline is overseas.
After our trip to Africa in Feb 2013, one woman was refused ff miles in her account. We surrendered our tickets on boarding the planes in Ethiopia & the ff partner wanted ticket numbers. We eventually got the info from our partners in Africa, but after many emails.Solution:before you board, take a photo of your boarding pass, the long ticket number is usually lower left.

Some travel industry groups merely require a fee to join. Here is a short check list of important ones. Solution: Do they sell travel insurance (you need a license ). Are they members of USTOA ( the top tour companies) or IATAN (you need good financials for IATAN approval). Do they take credit cards not just Pay Pal (if so they have a strong bank relationship- Pay Pal is used by small companies which might not).
