Vietnam’s Highlights in 12 Days—Only $1,899

Tour includes round-trip air, 5-star hotels, sightseeing, cruise, meals

Bellevue, WA,  August  25, 2014—It’s an exotic tropical country with a rich history, ravishing coastline, dynamic cities, fine hotels, great cuisine, sociable people…and special meaning for many Americans.  World Spree, sister company of the very popular China Spree, has put it all together in a value-packed 12-day tour.

World Spree’s  Amazing Vietnam tour, which starts at $1,899, includes  round-trip flights on Korean Air from San Francisco, all intra-Vietnam transportation and transfers, fuel surcharges and taxes, 5-star hotel accommodations, daily American buffet breakfast, two lunches and two dinners, sightseeing and entrance fees, overnight cruise on Halong Bay, professional English-speaking guide in each city, and a tour of Seoul, Korea on the way home. (Direct flights are available from Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Washington and Atlanta for an additional charge.).

The tour starts in Ho Chi Minh City—which  everyone  calls Saigon—a fast-paced  metropolis where skyscrapers are going up beside ancient temples and ornate French colonial buildings.  Here there’s an optional excursion to the truly amazing Cu Chi Tunnels. Overnights are at the Renaissance Riverside, a modern hotel with rooftop pool, gym and spa, which overlooks the Saigon River.

Next a short flight to Hue, the old imperial capital, which has a wealth of royal palaces, temples and gardens.  An extensive visit to the Imperial Citadel and its Forbidden City is part of the tour, but there are also two optional excursions. Accommodations are in the luxurious Imperial Hotel, which offers panoramic views of the Perfume River.  On through the mountains to Hoi An, a port town of historic charm, traditional architecture (and bargain-priced tailors) and the beautiful, beachfront Golden Sand Resort and Spa.

Another flight brings the tour to Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital, with its elegant French colonial buildings, Ho Chi Minh’s house, and the infamous “Hanoi Hilton” prison.  The resort-like Sheraton Hanoi, set amidst lush gardens with views of West Lake is just 10 minutes from downtown Hanoi.  And, finally, the trip’s highlight: the overnight cruise (on a deluxe air-conditioned “junk” with private bathrooms) to see the spectacular scenery of Halong Bay with its striking limestone outcrops, islets, caves, beaches and traditional floating villages.

Prices are cash-only, are per person double occupancy, and are subject to availability.  For more information about the Amazing Vietnam tour, log onto, click “Tour Packages” and then “Vietnam.”
