TEL AVIV LAUNCHES "NONSTOP SUMMER TEL AVIV GAY WINTER FESTIVAL" FOR THE HOLIDAYS
 
 

     

December 9, 2014: Tel Aviv will host the Nonstop Summer Tel Aviv Gay Winter Festival from December 24, 2014 to January 5, 2015 as its first gay winter festival.  

 

The festival will consist of a dynamic combination of street parties, events, beach parties, theater performances, dance shows and film screenings and will be based at the Tel Aviv Gay Center.  

 

The Nonstop Summer Tel Aviv Gay Winter Festival kicks off on December 24 with the lighting of a Chanukah Menorah alongside a Christmas tree. A new international gay art gallery will also be launched at the opening celebration. Festival highlights include: the Gender Bender dance show, illustrating gender identity issues; the Eurovision Night Show, featuring the EuroFlash group, whose performance will incorporate humor and flamboyant costumes; a special screening ofWalk on Water, one of the most renowned international gay films of all time; the world premiere ofShakespeare R&J, a modern twist on Shakespeare's classic; Mr. Nice Guy, a one-woman show focused on gender identity and the expectations of women; and the Chill-Out Beach Party on Hilton Beach, Tel Aviv's gay beach.  

 

Other festival attractions include parties at the city's many LGBT pubs and clubs, museum and gallery exhibitions, plays, concerts, drag shows and a film marathon at the Cinematheque. With Tel Aviv being one of the world's leading gay travel destinations, the festival is expected to draw LGBT tourists from around the world.
