The annual Bed Races are held in downtown Bar Harbor each November.

May 14-17 - Taste of Bar Harbor Food Festival
Come celebrate the rich culinary traditions of the region, and explore the exciting industries that are shaping the new flavors of Bar Harbor. With a variety of world-class dining experiences, the Taste of Bar Harbor has something for every palate. Featuring the Chef's Table Evening, Pub Tour, Dessert Night, Eden Farmer's Market and Waiter Race, among other events like cooking classes, tastings, tours and much more.
June 20-21 - 65th Annual Art in the Park
Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Bar Harbor Village Green
Tour and shop at one of Bar Harbor's longest running art shows. More than 30 artists will display and sell their original works on the Village Green at the corner of Main and Mount Desert streets. Rain or shine.
June 21 - Father's Day Concert
5 p.m., Agamont Park
Bring your family to Agamont Park on Father's Day for a free outdoor concert. With lively music from 'Flash! In the Pans' steel drum band, it's fun for dancing with the entire family. In the event of rain, the concert will be held at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church.
July 4 - Fourth of July Celebration
Voted the best small town Fourth of July celebration in the country, Bar Harbor offers a fun-filled day for the whole family. Fuel up with a blueberry pancake breakfast on the town's athletic field, before watching the parade on Main Street with its more than 80 floats and displays. Then, head back to the athletic field for Bar Harbor's own seafood festival, complete with lobster races! Once you've had enough lobster, come on down to the waterfront for the Harborside Concert Series that begins at 3 p.m. and plays all the way up to the fireworks.
July - August - Movies by the Bay
Come enjoy an outdoor movie every Wednesday from mid-July through the end of August, beginning shortly after dusk in Agamont Park in downtown Bar Harbor. Family-friendly movies will begin at 8:30 p.m., with free popcorn provided by presenting sponsor Camden National Bank.
September 10-14 - 7th Annual Acadia Night Sky Festival
Come enjoy the pristine night skies above Acadia and Downeast Maine at this singular festival. Star gaze atop Cadillac Mountain with astronomers, take a boat cruise under the stars while listening to Wabanaki folklore, listen to one of the nationally renowned speakers who are featured annually. Get hands on with activities including night sky photography workshops, night hikes, and viewing events, among so many others. November 7 - 21st Annual Early Bird Sale & Bed Races
Set your alarm, because the early bird gets the deals as you shop in your PJs for extra discounts in downtown Bar Harbor. The sale hours are 6-9 a.m., with the bed and pajama parade beginning at the Village Green at 10 a.m. and the 8th Annual Bed Races immediately following on Cottage Street. Come join us for Bar Harbor's most favorite and silliest tradition.
December 4 - Village Holidays & Midnight Madness Sale
Help us ring in the holidays by welcoming Santa to Bar Harbor on the Village Green at 5 p.m., before having a chance to join him and his elves at the Mount Desert Island YMCA for activities including having your picture taken with Santa, decorating cookies or enjoying a horse drawn "sleigh" ride, among many others. The 14th Annual Midnight Madness Sale will also be held later in the evening, from 8 p.m.-midnight. There will be great discounts, music, food, drink and midnight raffles!
