DISCOVER GREENLAND, THE WORLD’S MOST TALKED ABOUT DESTINATION

10-04-2007

Nuuk, GREENLAND – October 2, 2007 –  With stunning panoramic views, breathtaking glaciers, friendly people and its status as one of the world’s only undiscovered destinations, it is no surprise that Greenland captured global attention last week around the United Nation’s General Assembly.  Greenland’s most recognizable geographic attribute, its majestic glaciers, was at the forefront of the global discourse.  The dramatic, arctic imagery seen on television and in print are now easily accessible from the United States with Air Greenland’s new seasonal non-stop service.

Launched in May 2007, Air Greenland’s non-stop service now travels every Thursday between Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) and Greenland’s Kangerlussuaq Airport (SFJ).  The quick 5 hour trip and slight 2 hour time difference makes this exotic destination entirely accessible.  Moreover, the air travel experience provides an extraordinary bird’s eye view of Greenland’s varied terrains and awe-inspiring iceberg formations that have spurred so much talk and excitement!

The non-stop air service between Baltimore and Kangerlussuaq will be available once again in 2008:

  • Flight availability beginning: July 3, 2008
  • Flight availability ending: August 14, 2008
  • Flights offered to and from Greenland every Thursday. Additional flights may become available in the summer of 2008.
  • Prices starting at:  $1,100 including taxes and charges
