Tee Off & Save with Mauna Lani's 'Ohana Package

Kohala Coast, Hawaii (March 18, 2008) -- Mauna Lani Resort on the Big Island of Hawai'i announces the newest addition to its stellar lineup of golf amenities: the Mauna Lani Keiki Course. The nine-hole Keiki Course is specifically designed for junior golfers and beginning players 18 years of age and under - a perfect alternative to the resort's award winning Francis H. I'i Brown North and South courses.

Mauna Lani's new par 33 layout's no pushover. Hole #3, aptly named "Wipe Out" for its challenging green, is compared on the course scorecard to the "toughest wave you'll ever ride," while the longest hole, #7, is penned "Geev Um!," the Hawaiian connotation for "go for it."

"Our Keiki Couse is just what families are looking for - an unintimidating environment to spend time together," says Ross Birch, Director of Golf Sales & Retail at Mauna Lani. "The staff has done a tremendous job in developing a program that is enjoyable for both experienced and beginning players. This is a dream for all moms and dads!"

Mauna Lani Keiki Course players must have some knowledge of the game and be accompanied on the course by an adult. For juniors with limited to no golf experience, the resort's professional staff offers customized lessons that will have keikis on the course in no time. Experienced juniors wishing to play unaccompanied will be evaluated by a Mauna Lani golf professional and allowed to play independently after being certified on general safety and etiquette rules. Adults accompanying their kids are also encouraged to tee it up. (In keeping with the spirit and length of the course, adults will be limited to mid and short irons only.)

Mauna Lani's Keiki Course is open daily with tee times on a space available basis. Green fees start at $25.00 for keikis, $35.00 for adults. Clubs are also available for rent from Mauna Lani's Pro Shop.

Mauna Lani Resort features two 18-hole championship golf courses, the Francis H. I'i Brown North and South courses. Carved from ancient lava fields, the oceanside golf courses rank 20th among the Top 100 Golf Resorts in North America by Condé Nast Traveler (2007). The South course was home to the annual Senior Skins Games from 1989-2000. Throughout the year, Mauna Lani Resort offers programs tailored specifically for keiki including free golf clinics, a Keiki Course family day, a summer Junior Golf program for Big Island residents and more.

Mauna Lani's 'Ohana Package Makes Booking a Family Vacation a Snap!
