A Domestic Safari Tames a Bear Market with Creatures of the Red, White & Blue Variety

JACKSON HOLE, WY (March 2008) - As the value of the dollar continues to wane, thoughts of an exotic vacation are a distant memory.   Think again.  Spring Creek Ranch's newest wildlife offering reveals a safari right in our own backyard.  During the month of May, the resort's "Wolf Weekend Safari" makes observing Gray Wolves and Grizzlies up close a reality, without foregoing the comforts of a pampered mini-vacation or travelling afar.

The four-day/three-night, all-inclusive "Wolf Safari Weekend" enables guests to venture deep into the heart of Yellowstone National Park and observe large predators and other wildlife in their natural habitat, while enjoying deluxe accommodations in the comfort of acclaimed Spring Creek Ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

The package includes:
* Three nights' accommodations, including one night off-premise
* Welcome gift and DVD with photo memories from the trip
* Safari transportation, lodging, meals and snacks
* Complimentary airport transfers, 48-hour notice required
The package costs $1,350 per person, double occupancy, or $1,550 single occupancy.  Extra nights are $177 per night, single or double occupancy.*
* Based on availability; tax and gratuity excluded

Guided by in-house, professional naturalist Kurt Johnson, guests are transported in safari vehicles to the best predator viewing areas.  Black bears, grizzlies, gray wolves, bison, elk and newborn elk calves, mule deer and coyotes are among the animals to be sighted.  Groups are limited to ten people.

After a night at Spring Creek Ranch, the safari departs on a four-hour journey deep into Yellowstone Park, stopping along the way to take in the spectacular scenery at the park's "Grand Canyon" gorge, as well as the breath-taking Lower Falls and Mammoth Hot Springs.

The safari returns to the prime spots to catch the predators on the morning hunt with a return trip through Grand Teton National Park to Spring Creek.

Guests can spend Sunday enjoying Spring Creek's facilities, including tennis, riding, hiking, soaking in the outdoor hot tub or taking in the panoramic views while reading by the fireplace. Guests may also opt to take a trip into the town of Jackson via shuttle.

Given the limited size of the groups, reservations should be placed as early as possible to ensure availability. A 50% deposit per person is required.  With spring rates as low as $150 per night, Spring Creek Ranch is an excellent choice for value-conscious families and couples seeking a fun-filled, wildlife vacation. Because Spring Creek is a registered wildlife preserve, the ranch is home to moose, elk, migrating mule deer, and many species of birds.  Nearby Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, as well as the National Elk Refuge, provide plenty of options to view nature at its best.

Situated on 1,000 acres in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Spring Creek Ranch offers first-class lodges and hotel rooms in an authentic Western setting. The resort offers unparalleled activities year-round, including alpine skiing at world-class mountains - Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee Resort, sleigh rides, dog sledding, snowshoeing, nordic skiing, horseback riding, white water rafting, swimming, tennis, fly fishing and nearby golf facilities. Since opening in 1983, Spring Creek Ranch has consistently earned the coveted four-diamond rating from AAA. For reservations, call Spring Creek Ranch at (800) 443-6139 or (307) 733-8833.
