THREE DAYS OF LUXURY BETWEEN GOLFING AND SKIING

03-31-2008

There are only certain places in the world that you can ski and golf at the same time, such as a few areas out west in the United States and also in the booming traveling destination of DubaiShawnee is able to offer the same thing this weekend.

This is an official notice to let everyone know that you can ski and golf this weekend – both outdoors and in moderate temperatures.  It is quite the rare occasion that the golf and ski season overlap in the Pocono Mountains.  Tourists visiting can literally pack their skies and golf clubs.  Local residents can also brag that they have the option between the two amenities.

Shawnee Country Club opened for the 2008 season, today, March 28, and Shawnee Mountain Ski Area will close for the season on Sunday, March 30.  The weather for the next three days is supposed to be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.  Skiers can dress lighter then usual and golfers will need to put on an extra layer of clothing.

For the first two weeks of the golf season, Shawnee Country Club will offer the discounted public rates of $30 midweek and $40 weekend (not valid with any other discounts).  The normal season rate for 18-holes of golf is $65 midweek and $90 weekend.  Shawnee Country Club has also launched the 2008 Country Club Membership drive offering all “new members” a huge discount off dues.  The discounted Individual membership dues are $900 and Family is $1,250.  For tee times or membership information call 570-424-4000 x1425.
