Hôtel de Crillon Offers Exclusive Marie-Antoinette Package in Celebration of Grand Palais Exhibition

04-03-2008

Paris – In celebration of The Marie-Antoinette Exhibition at the Grand Palais, Hôtel de Crillon is offering a special package for visitors inspired to spend a bit more time in the footsteps of Marie-Antoinette, the last queen of France and one of history’s least understood figures.

From the moment Marie-Antoinette arrived in France in 1770, the young queen surprised the public with her culinary, ornamental and musical enthusiasm.  Versatile and full of curiosity, she launched and sunk the court fashions according to her whim, and was both adored and loathed from Versailles to Trianon.  Her artistic and musical pursuits famously brought her to Hôtel de Crillon, where she took many lessons, and the Salon Marie-Antoinette has been named in her honor.

From March 15 through June 16, guests who book a Superior Room (670 €), Deluxe Room (750 €) or Executive Room (850 €) will receive the following on a complimentary basis:

  • Two tickets to the Marie-Antoinette Exhibition, a collection of 350 exceptional works, including jewelry, wardrobe and portraits of the queen, housed at the Grand Palais
  • Daily breakfast buffet or room service
  • A gift box of Ladurée tea
  • Access to the hotel’s fitness center
  • WiFi Internet connection

A member of The Leading Hotels of the World and Relais Gourmand, Hôtel de Crillon is prominently situated on the world-famous Place de la Concorde, steps away from Paris’s most acclaimed attractions, including the luxurious boutiques of the Faubourg St.-Honoré, the Champs Elysées, the Louvre and the Tuileries Gardens.  Since its 1909 opening, the hotel has hosted some of this century’s most illustrious guests, and it boasts the acclaimed Michelin two-star restaurant Les Ambassadeurs, Restaurant L’Obélisque, Winter Garden Tea Room and Crillon Bar.

Hôtel de Crillon has recently initiated an ongoing renovation, spearheaded by renowned French architect Thierry Despont.  The renovation will include its 103 guest rooms, 44 suites and public spaces, in line with the hotel’s 2009 Centenary.
