New York, NY - April 2, 2008 - EL AL, Israel’s national airline, recently held its annual Christian Advisory Board meeting at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. EL AL established an Advisory Board to the Evangelical Christian Community in 2006 to impact the spiritual life of Christians throughout America by inspiring them to make the life-changing decision to travel to Israel.
The Board serves to facilitate an ongoing dialogue between EL AL and leaders of the Evangelical Christian community, communicate how EL AL and Israel can better respond to the needs of Christian pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land, and assist EL AL in determining how to make a trip to Israel even more meaningful for Christian travelers.
At the Nashville meeting, EL AL Chairman, Professor Israel (Izzy) Borovich chaired the event and thanked the board members for their loyalty and for encouraging successful and growing group travel to Israel. Plans for 2008 were addressed, including the commitment to further increase the special attention provided by EL AL to Christian groups traveling to and from Israel.
In addition to EL AL Chairman Professor Israel (Izzy) Borovich and EL AL CEO, North & Central America, Offer Gat, other members of The Advisory Board in attendance at this year’s meeting included Ms. Kay Arthur, Precept Ministries International; Mr. Earl Cox, Front Page Jerusalem/Radio Global Network; Mr. Michael Little, Christian Broadcasting Network; Rev. Robert Stearns, Eagles’ Wings Ministries, Linda Olmert, Fellowship of Israel and Black America; Pastor David Decker, Covenant Alliances; Mr. Pete Sumrall, LeSea Broadcasting; Susan Michael, International Christian Embassy, Jerusalem and Mr. Duke Westover, Liberty University.
"We are thankful to the board for giving us their time and input so that EL AL can continue to offer the best experience and service to all who begin their Holy Land pilgrimage on the national airline of Israel. We are eager to continue our mission to help Christians experience the spiritual journey that can only take place in the Holy Land, an experience that for tens of thousands of pilgrims begins every year with EL AL,” stated EL AL Chairman, Professor Israel (Izzy) Borovich.
Over the years, EL AL has had a partnership with the Christian community, its important clergy and influential leaders. The airline has invested resources to accommodate special needs through familiarization trips for pastors, special seminars and dedicated flight operations.
Additionally, EL AL offers an attractively priced seven-night all-inclusive Israel travel package which focuses on many important tour sites of historic and religious interest to the Christian community.
