OAKLAND, April 7, 2008---Uncommon Journeys is proud to announce a very special one-time ‘Fall Colors on the Mississippi River’ vacation featuring a ‘Fall Colors’ cruise on the Upper Mississippi River between St. Paul and St. Louis aboard the Steamboat AMERICAN QUEEN, the largest and most opulent Riverboat ever built, travel aboard a vintage classic luxury train, ‘The Steamboat Express’ and deluxe hotel stays in Chicago and St. Paul before and after the cruise!  Nicer still, train travel to Chicago from ANY US city or town is FREE when bookings are made by May 23rd! This comfortable holiday allows guests to enjoy a leisurely trip on a famous American institution, a real Steamboat, without the hassle of airports or driving along with visits to three great cities: Chicago, St. Louis and Minneapolis for the Classic American Fall Colors holiday, a relaxing voyage through America’s heartland, at prices that are most attractive.

Guests begin their holiday with free train travel from ANY Ohio city to Chicago followed by a two-night stay at Chicago’s fabled Palmer House Hilton Hotel (including a special welcome dinner at famed ‘Lawry’s, the Prime Rib!) with plenty of free time for enjoying all that Chicago has to offer.  On October 10th, we travel back in time aboard a classic vintage train from the golden era of train travel, the ‘Steamboat Express’ for a stylish trip, in ‘Club car comfort’ to St. Louis where we enjoy an overnight stay at superb Hilton. The following day, after a complete city tour by acclaimed St. Louis historian Nini Harris, we board the grand American Queen for our seven-day Fall Colors cruise up the mighty Mississippi with great scenery every mile. Our cruise visits quaint towns like Hannibal (Mark Twain’s hometown!), La Crosse and Red Wing before our arrival in St. Paul. Notably, our guests enjoy an exclusive and unique to our passengers, complimentary excursion to lovely and historic Galena, Illinois during our port call in Dubuque, IA.  Galena is always rated one of most picturesque small towns in America and our guests always agree.  On board the American Queen, there are special events and parties, great dining, Dixieland jazz and some of the finest entertainment anywhere. Naturally, all meals & entertainment aboard are included.  After seven days on the Steamboat, we disembark in St. Paul where a sightseeing tour of the Twin Cities, Suite hotel accommodations and a lavish Farewell Dinner await. In St. Paul, guests may extend their stay in the Twin Cities before traveling home aboard the Empire Builder train.

Complete fares for the entire all-inclusive program including the luxury hotel stays in Chicago, St. Louis and St. Paul, the train travel aboard the Steamboat Express train, city sightseeing tours, the 7-day Steamboat cruise, special parties and events aboard the Steamboat and ashore start at only $2,995.00 for the entire twelve-day holiday. In order to enjoy our special ‘Free Train Travel from any US city’ offer, guests must reserve by May 23rd.  For information & reservations call Uncommon Journeys at 800.323.5893 or on the web at www.uncommonjourneys.com
