MORAINE LAKE LODGE RECOGNIZED FOR “SENSE OF PLACE”

04-14-2008

One of 15 Canadian Properties on National Geographic Travelers “Stay List”

LAKE LOUISE, Alberta, Canada – Moraine Lake Lodge has been selected by the editors of National Geographic Traveler magazine for its inaugural “Stay List.”  The list debuts in the April 2008 issue of National Geographic Traveler and includes 150 properties in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

“It’s thrilling to see how many folks in the accommodations business truly care about offering guests a sense-of-place experience,” says Traveler Senior Editor Sheila Feldman Buckmaster.  “The hotels and inns that made it onto the list give back to the community, work to conserve and sustain, and –day in and out – celebrate the very best that their destinations have to offer.”-522-2777 or

With the towering mountains and crystalline lake serving as the main attractions, each of the Lodge’s 33 guestrooms provide fireplaces, soft down duvets, deep soaker tubs, private balconies and custom-made furniture.  When designing the Lodge and cabins, world-famous architect Arthur Erickson ensured that no view went to waste, going as far as incorporating a glass ceiling into the Lodge’s spectacular dining room.

Moraine Lake Lodge is part of the Capilano Group of Companies (CGC), which is owned and operated by Nancy Stibbard, who has developed a number of world renowned properties including Capilano Suspension Bridge and Treetops Adventure in Vancouver and Cathedral Mountain Lodge near Lake Louise.
