HANFORD HOUSE JOINS UNIQUE INNS

10-23-2007

PORTLAND, Ore. (Oct. 16, 2007) – Unique Inns, one of North America’s first bed and breakfast innkeeping organizations, today announced that Hanford House Inn in Sutter Creek, Calif., is the organization’s newest member. The inn is located just 45 minutes from Sacramento and 90 minutes from Lake Tahoe on historic Highway 49 in Amador County. The Sutter Creek area is famous for the discovery of gold 160 years ago, and was also one of the first sites of California’s bed and breakfast inn renaissance 30 years ago.

“Hanford House represents the best of both the past and the future of the Sutter Creek area,” said Rose Allen, executive director of Unique Inns. “The area is rich in the history of the California Gold Rush, but also brings new sophistication and level of hospitality from the area’s winemakers, restaurateurs and hoteliers.”

“Our dedication has always been to provide the best possible stay to all of our guests. We believe our Unique Inns’ membership will enhance the guest experience even more, explained Innkeeper Karen Tierno. “We look forward to networking with other innkeepers who are committed to providing guests with genuine hospitality, generous amenities and world-class accommodations,” she added.

With ten rooms, including three suites, Bob and Karen Tierno provide guests with lodging experiences that tend to every detail. Guests enjoy in-room amenities including spa tubs, fireplaces, televisions, phones, wireless Internet and turndown service. The Hanford House is a favorite retreat for wine tasting groups, intimate weddings and family reunions. Its spacious 900 square-foot conference center provides a professional and relaxing atmosphere for business groups of up to 50 people. The inn has been awarded AAA’s coveted Four Diamond Award for the last three years.

A gourmet breakfast is included in the room rate; complimentary snacks are available throughout the day that include an afternoon tea with sweets, and evening appetizers with wine.  The inn is within walking distance to four of the area’s outstanding restaurants.
