TWO HARBORS WEST END PEDAL AND PADDLE TOUR

SANTA CATALINA ISLAND, Calif.: Two Harbors Enterprises has rolled out an exclusive new adventure on Santa Catalina Island, the Pedal and Paddle Tour, an exhilarating way to experience the astonishing beauty of Santa Catalina.  Participants will mountain bike, snorkel and kayak along some of the most remote sections of the Island.

The tour begins midmorning at Two Harbors Dive and Recreation Center where everyone gets outfitted for the adventure.  Starting with the bike tour, guests will be saddled up on Specialized front-end suspension mountain bikes, and two experienced guides will lead a journey along the West End Road to Parson's Landing, a distance of approximately seven miles.

Upon arrival at Parson's Landing, lunch will be served, before heading out in kayaks to Emerald Bay for some spectacular snorkeling in this scenic cove.  The adventure ends between 4:00-5:00 p.m. at Two Harbors.

Two Harbors Enterprises recommends that guests be accustomed to some amount of physical activity to enjoy the tour.  The biking portion of the journey is on a rural, graded dirt road with some moderate, gradual inclines. The paddling segment takes kayakers along the prevailing current on the leeward side of the island, with launches and landings on non-surf beaches.

This all-day adventures are scheduled May 26, June 6, June 11, June 21, June 25, July 9, July 19, July 30, August 9, August 13, August 25, August 30 and September 1, 2008.  Group trips may be scheduled by calling Two Harbors Dive & Recreation Center.  The price is $139 per person and includes guides, lunch, bike, snorkeling and kayak equipment.
