Vegas' Sizzling Pool Scene

04-25-2008

In typical Vegas fashion, there’s a pool scene for everyone. (Many of them are 21+ so be sure to check first.) From hot people partying hard to quiet sanctuaries or pools that let you lounge topless, VEGAS.com knows ‘em all. They even know where to find someone who’ll apply sunscreen for $35.

Here are just a few of the pool scenes in Vegas - for more information visit the Hotel Pools page and the Nightclubs page (some of these are more party than pool). Poolside privileges come at a cost in Vegas and not all pools and parties have their 2008 prices listed yet; VEGAS.com will update that information as it becomes available.

HOT SPOTS

Wet ‘n’ wild is so cliché it does these justice:
Wet Republic – Brand new, Wet Republic at MGM Grand opened on April 18 and combines nightlife elements with the pool, creating a hip, new, “daylife” scene. A DJ spins tunes that are pumped into the air and into the pool with 12 underwater speakers. One hundred chairs surround the pool, six “super” cabanas complete with amenities like Astroturf lawns are available as well as three VIP hot tubs. Don’t miss the Red Bull Vodka Drunken Popsicles and Watermelon Mojitos. 21+ to get in.

Tao Beach – Set in a secluded spot inside the plush pool area at The Venetian, Tao Beach doesn’t disappoint the 21+ crowd. Cushioned lounge chairs face the pool and DJ booth where tunes are pumped out everyday. Day beds and cabanas are available for rent but make reservations early! The seven cabanas are decked out with 46-inch plasma televisions, X-Boxes, iPod hookups and a fully-stocked fridge. Bottle service and catering from Wolfgang Puck’s Riva are also available. Palms Pool – Ditch Fridays, the weekly 21+ pool party at the Palms Casino Resort, are back beginning May 2. Held every Friday from noon to 7 p.m., partygoers take over three separate pools; can reserve one of 27 VIP cabanas, listen to music from the house DJs or grab a burger by the pool. TOPLESS BATHING

If you’re over 21 feel free to bathe like a European at these pools:
Bare – As the name suggests, this ultra-modern pool setting at the Mirage with VIP service and dolphins splashing nearby allows topless sun bathing. Guests relax in a secluded area surrounded by lush palm trees where private daybeds provide a tranquil experience. Patrons can enjoy complimentary services like towels rolled and chilled in flavored water, popsicles, mini fruit smoothes and refreshing ice-cold spray bottles. Click here for video preview
.

Flamingo Pool – The pool at the Flamingo is a sprawling paradise of pools, lounge chairs and three bars stocked with frozen margaritas. There’s also a sand volleyball court, a waterfall and tons of palm trees. For an adults-only swim, the Flamingo offers up its 21+ Go Pool, a private, topless pool area complete with its own bar and DJ. Get there early to snag a cabana, complete with TVs; Go Pool cabanas come with Xbox 360s. Go Pool prices will be announced on May 1.

SERENITY BY THE POOL

Get away from it all at one of these quiet sanctuaries in the desert:

Venus Pool Club – If you’re looking for an oasis away from the big crowds, pull up a lounge chair at Venus Pool Club at Caesars Palace. Open seven days a week, the club feels like a private hideaway, secluded from the rest of the Caesars’ pool area by shrubbery. Enjoy the fully stocked bar and poolside dining and even if you can’t muster up the energy to apply your own suntan lotion, the Venus Pool Club will do that for you too. (Starts around $35.) Click here for video preview.

Four Season Pool – The Four Seasons is all about service and it doesn’t stop at the pool. The quiet, secluded spot is set amidst lush foliage and a cascading fountain. Drink service is available and attendants will bring it directly to you, along with towels or anything else you need. Chaise lounges are available as are two Jacuzzis, located on either side of the fountain. The pool is open to Four Seasons guests only.
