Seattle, WA - The 38th annual Bumbershoot: Seattle’s Music & Arts Festival, Presented by Samsung Mobile announces more artists to the 2008 lineup. The 3-day urban event takes place Labor Day Weekend (August 30 – September 1). The Festival stretches across the 74-acre Seattle Center, located beneath the city’s iconic Space Needle, and programs 20 indoor and unique outdoor venues. This progressive Festival features a diverse array of arts including live music, comedy, theatre, dance, film, urban crafts, and literary and visual arts. The popularity of Bumbershoot’s comedy programming is evident by its growth to three stages last year, which will continue to host hilarious regional and national talent. Confirmed national artists include Zach Galifianakis, Doug Benson, Aziz Ansari, Jessi Klein, Karen Kilgariff, Michelle Buteau, Hannibal Buress and Tig. More national comics will be revealed mid-July, as well as featured shows and regional comedy co-curated with Seattle’s own People’s Republic of Komedy.

Due to the high demand for comedic offerings at the Festival and the intimate venues in which the shows are staged, all comedy programs now offer a free pass onsite guaranteeing admission to Festival patrons without having to wait in line for hours! Comedy passes will be available every day beginning at 11AM at the Comedy Pass Distribution booth (located outside at the northwest corner of the Center House), on a first come, first served basis. To allow more comedy fans the opportunity to see a show, each patron may receive only one comedy pass guaranteeing admission per day. In addition, each performance will have a stand-by line for patrons without comedy passes. Admission from the stand-by line is not guaranteed and is first come, first served. Three-day Festival passes are available NOW at bumbershoot.org for $80 through Friday, August 15 and $100 thereafter. Single day-specific tickets will be available to the public Tuesday, July 15 at bumbershoot.org, Ticketmaster outlets, or by calling 206.628.0888, and beginning Saturday, August 2 at Western Washington Starbucks stores. There are no service fees for tickets purchased at Starbucks. Single day-specific tickets are $35 through August 15, and $40 thereafter. A Special Entry (discounted) ticket for seniors 65 and over, patrons with permanent disabilities and kids aged 6–10 (accompanied by a paying adult) will be available for $15 / day at two gates during the Festival, and ONLY the day of the event (no advance sales of any kind).
