Washington International Horse Show Celebrates 50 Years in the Nation’s Capital

October 21 – 26, 2008 at Verizon Center

 

What:                           The Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) is a world-class championship event that has been drawing leading equestrians including Olympic champions from around the U.S. and abroad since 1958. They vie for more than $415,000 in prize money as well as championship titles. Approximately 600 horses will compete in show jumping, hunters, equitation and dressage during the six-day event. Unique shopping in 65 boutiques, a Pony Pavilion with free pony rides, and exhibitions including; driving, Saddlebred horse demonstrations, agility dogs, and many more round out the event.

When:                           Tuesday, October 21 – Sunday, October 26, 2008

                                    Oct. 23-24        $25,000 Dressage Invitational

Oct. 24             $25,000 puissance (High Jump) Competition,

Oct. 25             Pony Pavilion, Equitation Finals (junior championships) $100,000 President’s Cup Grand Prix,
