WINTER FESTIVAL EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The New York State Department of Tourism has designated the Chautauqua-Allegheny Region for its 2007-2008 NYS Winter Festival.  Shop for holiday and sweetheart gifts in the middle of wine and grape country, see holiday displays of past and present times, ride a sleigh through the historic grounds of Chautauqua Institution, play in the snow at ski centers and festivals, get away for a winter journey through the land of Chautauqua.  For more information about visiting Chautauqua County and a comprehensive calendar of events, visit www.tourchautauqua.com or call 1-866-908-ILNY (4569).

 

November 16 – 18                 Winter Weekend in Westfield, Village of Westfield, 326-4000

6:30 pm – Fri.                        Santa arrives via grape picker for the lighting of Moore Park and Main Street followed by caroling and pictures with Santa in Eason Hall

10 am – 5 pm – Sat./Sun        Victorian Christmas and Tea, Eason Hall and Holiday Arts & Crafts Show, Fireman’s Exempt Hall

10 am – 4 pm – Sat.               Horse-drawn carriage rides

 8 pm – 12 am – Sat.              Wine, Winter & Song, Quincy Cellars, Ripley, featuring wine tasting and appetizers from Chautauqua County wineries and restaurants, chamber music by SUNY Fredonia Quartet, and Concord Grape Heritage photographic exhibit.

12:30 – 5 pm – Sun.               23rd Annual Holly House Tour, 716-326-7317, Self-guided tour of Westfield’s finest homes and buildings decorated for the holidays.  Refreshments and music.

 

November 23 –                      Deck the Halls Holiday Exhibit, Fenton History Center, Jamestown
