Keystone Delivers a Halloween Treat for Skiers by Opening a Week Earlier Than Expected on Nov. 2

 

•     With snow today and more than 2 feet of October snow, Keystone is set to open Friday with Breckenridge opening Nov. 9 followed by the Nov. 16 opening of Vail and Heavenly and Beaver Creek’s opening day on Nov. 21

 

•     Keystone’s A51 terrain park will offer the most ‘tricks’ in the country with more than 20 terrain park features and the largest terrain park in the country on Friday

 

KEYSTONE, Colo. – Oct. 31, 2007 – Keystone skiers and snowboarders will receive a Halloween treat – an earlier-than-expected opening on Friday, Nov. 2 for the 2007-2008 season, along with more snow today.

 

For those who are seeking more ‘tricks,’ Keystone’s top-rated A51 terrain park team is creating the largest park offering in the country with 20 rails, boxes, wall rides and other terrain park features on Friday, Nov. 2, Keystone’s opening day.

 

Thanks to a series of October snowstorms that have delivered up to 3 feet of snow on the summits of the Colorado Rockies, as well as cold temperatures for snowmaking, Keystone Resort announced it’ll open Friday, Nov. 2 – a week earlier than the initially scheduled opening date of Nov. 9. Breckenridge will open a week later on Friday, Nov. 9 followed by the Nov. 16 openings of Vail and Heavenly and Beaver Creek’s opening on Nov. 21.

 

Keystone will open with beginner and intermediate terrain serviced by three chairlifts and a magic carpet, as well as terrain park features on the Spring Dipper trail. Adult lift tickets will be $59 for a special opening weekend pricing. This season, Keystone will open a new eco-friendly spa at the Keystone Lodge & Spa, along with introducing a new gourmet lunch guided snowcat ski tour program.

 

Other highlights for the 2007-2008 season include: Beaver Creek’s new children’s gondola; the unveiling of Vail’s new community developments including the Arrabelle at Vail Square, a RockResort hotel; the installation of two new high-speed quad chairlifts at Vail; the debut of Heavenly’s new high-speed Olympic Express chairlift; in addition to Breckenridge’s new expanded progression terrain park.

 

To celebrate the kickoff of the season, Keystone’s offering $89 hotel room rates at the Inn at Keystone Nov. 1-7. Breckenridge skiers and snowboarders can stay for as low at $59 through Dec. 19. Vail and Beaver Creek are offering a free night of lodging and free lift ticket when you buy two nights of lodging and two-day lift tickets during the early season. The package is $422 per person at Vail and is valid for a double-occupancy hotel room Nov. 25-Dec. 1 at Vail and is $370 per person at Beaver Creek valid for quad-occupancy in a two-bedroom condominium for Nov. 21-Dec. 10.
