Tofino, BC, October 17, 2008 - Oyster season is back on Canada's wild West Coast, and fall is the best time of the year for guests looking to rekindle an old flame or jumpstart the annual bivalve biathlon - with Long Beach Lodge's Oyster Bed Package. This includes two nights accommodation for two, a three-course dinner featuring Executive Chef Josh Anker's signature oyster dishes, and a home baked breakfast each morning.

 

Available from now until November 29, 2008, rates for this package start at $647 CAD / $ USD* based on double occupancy and a two-night minimum stay. * based on current exchange rates.

 

Fifty thousand gallons of the world's finest Pacific oysters are harvested annually in the Tofino/Clayoquot Sound region and residents of the Pacific Rim, including the team at the award-winning Long Beach Lodge Resort, are welcoming oyster lovers to "knock back" the bounty.

 

Mid November, ostreaphiles from all over the world descend on the area to pay tribute to the briny creatures during the 12th annual Clayoquot Oyster Festival. This year's event is being held November 20-23, and Long Beach Lodge is kicking off the festival on Thursday, November 20 with an evening of "Oysters & Bubbles". The "all white" extravaganza takes place in the resort's famous Great Room from 8:30 pm - 12:30 am, featuring champagne, oysters and entertainment with local DJ Kevin West. Early bird tickets are $29 per person if purchased before October 31 and $49 after that.
