EUROPEAN-STYLE spa marbella openS at MISSION INN RESORT & club

         S, Fla., January 5, 2009 – The luxurious, European-style Spa Marbella opened in November at Mission Inn Resort & Spa. The 6,200-square-foot facility complements the resort’s highly acclaimed golf and tennis facilities and is a welcomed amenity for guests, area visitors and the local community.

Spa Marbella (pronounced Mar-bay-a) is run by Kathy Neiman, who most recently operated the spa at the historic Langford Resort in Winter Park, Fla. A 12-year veteran, Neiman was ranked in the top three percent of the nation’s massage therapists by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodyworks (NCBTMB).

         In addition to Marbella Signature Stone Massage and Marbella Signature Facial, guests can choose from such distinctive treatments as Aroma de la Tierra and Tejido massages, Joven and Pearls of the Sea facials, and Leche Tropical and Water Lilly body wraps.

         Facilities include four individual massage rooms; a Tsunami Swiss Shower with body and overhead sprays; a manicure and pedicure salon; and his and hers relaxation lounges, locker rooms and aromatic steam chambers. A couples’ suite features dual massage tables and a large, circular shower for two tucked behind a glass block façade, with 12 adjustable body jets and eight overhead sprays. Couples also enjoy exclusive access to a private patio with a fountain as its soothing focal point. An adjacent fitness center is equipped with cardio, circuit- and strength-training equipment, as well as free weights. Personal trainers are available to develop customized exercise programs for guests.

         The spa is named for Marbella on Spain’s Costa del Sol, a chic, sun-drenched resort and favorite travel destination for the Beucher family, owners of Mission Inn Resort & Club. The design of the spa complements the Spanish Colonial character of the 1,000-acre resort. Other facilities include 190 rooms, suites and villas; three dining venues, two lounges and a poolside bar. In addition to two championship golf courses, the recreational amenities include eight tennis courts, jogging and cycling trails, volleyball courts, swimming pool and hydro-spa, trap and skeet shooting range, and a lake-side marina, where guests can fish and go eco-touring via pontoon boat.

         Mission Inn Resort & Club is also home to three highly regarded training camps for young athletes interested in becoming champions. These include Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy, Justine Henin’s 6th Sense Tennis Academy and the Etcheberry Experience, Strength & Conditioning for Serious Sports.

         Although Orlando’s world-famous attractions are 30 miles away, the resort feels a world away from the hustle and bustle, nestled in the rolling hills of Lake County, an area long noted for its scenic beauty, mild climate and 1,400 lakes. The quaint boutiques and antique shops of historic Mount Dora, central Florida’s storied antiques capital, are a short drive from the resort.
