Fueling Up Gets Easier for Snowmobilers on Allegheny National Forest Trail

01-16-2009

Marienville, PA) Forest County officials have anounced an arrangement that will hopefully make snowmobiling visitors to the area happy.  Fueling your snowmobile on Trail #1 of the 126 mile Allegheny National Forest snowmobile trail just got easier.  Riders are now able access the railroad tracks that lead out of Marienville one mile north to the QuickFill gas station and gas up their tanks.  Trail #1 is interconnected to the greater 360-mile Allegheny National Forest Trail that offers some of the most fantastic scenery in Western Pennsylvania.  In addition, the trail connects riders to various loding and restaurants in and around Marienville that continues to be one of Pennsylvania's most attractive snowmobiling destinations.

"This is the 'snowmobile capital of Pennsylvania' and we are happy to invite all snowmobilers to our area," said Forest County Commissioner Basil Huffman.

It took cooperation from the Kovalchick Corporation as well as private property owners to open up the area that allows snowmobile riders to access the fuel stop in Forest County.

"A lot of credit should be given to the Kovalchick Corporation to allow that road to be used as well as Frank Kurcsics who is a property owner,"said Robert Snyder Jr., Forest County Commissioner.

Groomers from the Allegheny National Forest, Forest County Snowmobile Club and Marienville Trail Riders are busy grooming the trails during the daytime hours so riders are asked to use caution.

Trail conditions, groom status and snow reports can be accessed at
