Curaçao’s $500,000 Treasure Hunt
Curaçao is giving away $500,000 to one lucky winner of its on-island Treasure Hunt later this year. In a bid to increase the awareness of Curaçao in the US Market and to ultimately drive more American consumers to the island, the Curaçao Tourist Board is giving away 70 trips per day to the island. This will be administered through a dedicated microsite which will go live on March 16th. In addition, 10 online winners will be given the chance to travel to Curaçao to participate in an island-wide Treasure Hunt. The Grand Prize winner will take home a half million dollars. Curaçao Now is Back
Curaçao's popular and successful "Curaçao Now" promotion is back for a second year, with deals worth over $700 being offered by the island's government agencies, hoteliers, car rental agencies, and dive and tour operators.

During the promotion, travelers to Curaçao will again be able to enjoy valuable savings on their vacation packages. The 2009 Booking Windows are January 15 to March 15, 2009 and May 15 to July 15, 2009. Travel Periods are May 1 to July 1, 2009 and August 15 to December 15, 2009.

Travelers who book their trips to Curaçao during the selected time periods will be eligible for a $100 per person credit on airline tickets; $140 food & beverage credit; free nights at a participating hotels; a free dive day; a free car rental day; discounted admission to Curaçao's many museums; half price attractions, tours and transfers and high value shopping discounts in downtown Willemstad. Renaissance Curaçao Resort & Casino Makes Its Official Debut

Avila Hotel Celebrates 60th Anniversary
The timeless Avila Hotel celebrates its 60th anniversary this month, making it Curaçao's oldest hotel in continuous operation. While the old Governor's Mansion, dating back to the late 1780s, remains the heart of Avila, significant changes have taken place on the premises since it opened as a modest 45-room family hotel in 1949. New Pool Makes Debut at Lions Dive & Beach Resort
Last month, a brand new 50-meter training pool at Lions Dive & Beach Resort officially opened. The pool, named in honor of the famed U.S. swimming coach Doug Stern, is the first of its kind in the Caribbean.
