Major London theatre promotion to attract London visitors

02-24-2009

London, February 2009:  London’s West End, the world’s most successful district for theatre and the performing arts, is to attract overseas tourists with a major series of offers and promotions on a range of successful shows.

CHEAP TICKETS

London has become an increasingly attractive holiday destination for millions of overseas visitors, with a cheap Pound Sterling and a range of good value hotels and attractions.

And now Westendtheatre.com (www.westendtheatre.com), has launched a major promotion offering thousands of discounted tickets to London theatre, many up to half the original price. Shows in the promotion include successful musicals from Andrew Lloyd Webber such as Joseph, Sunset Boulevard and The Phantom of the Opera, plus popular hits Grease, Zorro and We Will Rock You, and the hugely popular classic shows Carousel and Les Miserables.

FREE DINNERS

The website also features special theatre and dinner packages, allowing overseas visitors to effortlessly plan an entire evening out in the West End. Many of the restaurant and theatre deals offer a FREE DINNER included in the price of a theatre ticket. The choice of restaurants include many of the most popular places to dine out in London and current shows in the promotion include Dirty Dancing, Hairspray, Oliver!, Billy Elliot and Wicked.

Marketing Director Mark Temple-Brown said: “London is better value than ever for visitors from overseas and tickets to see some of the world’s most exciting shows have never been cheaper. If ever there was a time to see a London show it is now.”

The website is also available in the following languages: Norwegian, Swedish, Spanish, Finnish, Dutch, German, French, Italian and Danish (see www.westendtheatre.com/international).
