Gettysburg to host Re-enactor’s Appreciation Weekend next week

The fourth annual Gettysburg Re-enactor Appreciation Weekend will be held March 6-8, 2009. The weekend-long event is open to re-enactors of all eras, not just Civil War.

Admission to the Re-enactor Appreciation Weekend is free to living historians in period attire, and many local businesses offer specials rates and discounts for re-enactors and their families.

This weekend is Gettysburg’s way of expressing gratitude to all the re-enactors and living historians who help bring the historic town to life. The event includes dances, receptions, teas, fashion and other entertainment.

In 2008, the event added a World War II Big Band Dance during the Welcome Reception and offered a Cigars and Brandy event and a Grand Ball.
