Catalonia Royal Tulum offers the Isla Contoy Whale Shark Safari starting at $239 per person and is valid June through September 2009.  The once-in-a-lifetime experience includes the following:

• Early morning pick up at Catalonia Royal Tulum.
• Drop off at Punta Sam where travelers will board a boat to Isla Contoy and Yum Balam.
• Guests will dive into the waters of Yum Balam and swim with the whale sharks.  During this time, guests will also have the opportunity to snorkel with the manta rays, turtles, dolphins and spot the natural reserve’s resident flamingos and pelicans.
• Transfer from Isla Contoy to Punta Sam and back to Catalonia Royal Tulum.

 

Travelers need not be afraid of these unbelievable creatures either -- the slow moving whale sharks are peaceful and completely harmless animals.  Guests of Catalonia Royal Tulum Beach & Spa Resort taking part in the Isla Contoy Whale Shark Safari should bring a towel, hat, camera and a change of clothing with them.  In addition to the lunch offered, there is also food and beverages provided on the boat.

Rates are per person, per night and include all meals and beverages.  Rate excludes tax and gratuities.  All rates are subject to availability.    Schedule for the Whale Shark Safari subject to change and availability, rules are strictly enforced and only two guests swim with the sharks at a time with a wild life guide. 

Whale Shark participants should receive an approximate pick up time from agent.  Guests must be on time for morning pick up.  There are no refunds when guests are late or do not show up for the Safari.  Catalonia Royal Tulum staff will call guests the evening before to confirm their attendance.
