THE RITZ-CARLTON CHICAGO UNVEILS RENEWED GUESTROOMS AND SUITES

03-25-2009

Chicago, IL - - March, 2009- - The Ritz-Carlton Chicago, a Four Seasons Hotel, unveils one of the largest multi-million dollar restylings of its guestrooms and suites in the Hotel's history on May 1st, 2009.

The team of Brayton Hughes Design Studios – responsible for the stylings of Four Seasons Hotels in Costa Rica, Egypt, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Seattle, Washington and Whistler, British Columbia – are leading the redesign, using custom furnishings and original fabrics throughout the Hotel.

Lines are clean and designed to showcase the stunning views captured from guestrooms, which soar 15 to 30 floors above the Hotel lobby, offering a glimpse of Chicago in every direction.

Contemporary mecho shades and arched tailored valances with draperies in sateen fabrics in lustrous grey and pale blue sheens frame the panoramic views and celebrate the natural light that envelopes each space.

Technology upgrades and enhanced amenities are offered in every room to improve comfort and productivity.

High-speed, wireless Internet access allows for simultaneous use of multiple laptops, flat screen LG LCD TV's are featured, as well as spacious writing desks with polished nickel silver articulated arm desk lamps, pull out computer tray and ergonomic leather desk task chairs.

Environmental sensitivity is woven into design, as rooms are outfitted with compact fluorescent lighting,  reflective of The Ritz Carlton Chicago's Green Seal Certification.

Regular guestrooms feature two color schemes - pewter & blue topaz - to reflect the colors of the bright, sky view from each room. Blending contemporary with traditional, guestrooms feature luxe regency and deco furnishings, large graphic patterned wall coverings and carpets.

Dressers and desks of dark wood tones are accented with warm cream lacquered drawer fronts and polished nickel hardware.  Walnut nightstands are well dressed with European grey marble tops.

Uncut clear crystal table lamps adorn the nightstands and frame the fully upholstered shaped headboards that accentuate the bed wall and relate to the arched valances.

Suites are accented in amber color schemes with dark wood toned furnishings throughout, including Macasser ebony finishes at the desk and entry consoles and glass table lamps with leather bases surrounding the living room's ample sized sofas.

French St. Laurant  marble-topped end tables and nightstands enhance the Living Rooms and Bedrooms and large dining table in black crackle lacquered finish and white gold detailing.

All guestrooms feature framed images of celebrated Chicago architecture captured by celebrated Chicago photographers.

The Ritz-Carlton Chicago, a Four Seasons Hotel, is located high atop prestigious Water Tower Place, which has also been revitalized with a multi-million dollar enhancement and the addition of American Girl Place and such prestigious retailers as Betsey Johnson and Cusp by Neiman Marcus.

In addition to securing the "Best Hotel In The United States” honor from Condé Nast Traveler for a record seven years, the prestigious publication also recognized The Ritz-Carlton Chicago for "Best Service & Cuisine In Chicago In 2008” and Institutional Investor named it "Best Hotel In Chicago In 2008.
