China Spree's 10-Night China Delights Tour

03-31-2009

Save $2,000

Blaine, WA, March 31, 2009—China Spree Travel, known for "first-class travel at  bargain prices" has done it again—with a 10-night introductory tour of China that starts at only $999, or less than $100 a night.  An independent traveler who booked the elements of this tour would pay at least $3,000, so China Spree's price is a truly amazing bargain

The 10-night China Delights Tour covers Beijing, Suzhou, Tongli, Hangzhou and Shanghai.  Included in the $999 price are non-stop air from San Francisco to Beijing on Air China, centrally located first-class hotels with private bath, daily American breakfasts, most other (Chinese) lunches and dinners, all transportation in China, sightseeing tours with entrance fees, special evening shows, an expert tour director, local guides, baggage handling and special culinary events such as a Peking duck dinner and a traditional Mongolian barbecue lunch.

In addition to the standard Beijing sites—Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City (a 10-minute walk from the hotel), Olympic Stadium and the Great Wall—China Spree provides lunch with a Chinese family and a rickshaw tour of Beijing's hutongs, the old neighborhoods with a network of courtyard homes and narrow lanes. In fabled Suzhou, the city of ancient canals known as the "Venice of the East," the tour visits a classical garden and silk mill.  In Tongli, a water village that looks like a traditional Chinese painting, there's a gondola ride. And in Hangzhou, called the "landscape composed by a painter," a cruise on the beautiful West Lake and a visit to a tea plantation with the Chinese Tea Ceremony are included.

In cosmopolitan Shanghai, where the hotel is close to the celebrated riverside Bund and the shopper's paradise Nanjing Road, there's a program of contrasts: sightseeing modern landmarks and enjoying a stroll in the old Shanghai Bazaar.  And, unlike many other tours, China Spree allows a free day in both Beijing and Shanghai (so tour participants can shop for fashions, knock-offs and jade, and track down the best soup dumplings in Shanghai, for example).

The China Delights tour departs almost weekly throughout the year, but the $999 price applies only to five departures in November and one on December 6. Prices quoted are the cash discount rate, are per person double occupancy, are subject to availability and do not include departure taxes and a fuel surcharge of $382, or the China visa fee.  The price from New York starts at $1,199 for a non-stop flight, plus $390 tax and surcharge.  Add-on fares from other departure cities, which involve a connection, but no tax or surcharge, are $190 for Boston; $320 for Washington, D.C.; $310 for Miami, $310 for Chicago and $130 for Los Angeles.
