THE FAIRMONT COPLEY PLAZA AND FAIRMONT BATTERY WHARF PARTNER WITH THE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS FOR THE RIVALS OF VENICE PACKAGE
04-18-2009
Boston, Massachusetts, April 17, 2009—For connoisseurs of Italian Renaissance art, The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Back Bay, built on the original site of the Museum of Fine Arts, and Fairmont Battery Wharf, the newest Fairmont on Boston’s vibrant waterfront, each offer an excellent way to experience the landmark exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston - Titan, Tintoretto and Veronese: Rivals in Renaissance Venice.
In the sixteenth century, Venice was one of the largest and richest cities in Europe. A steady demand for paintings from both local and international clients fostered a climate of exceptional competition and innovation. Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese: Rivals in Renaissance Venice is the first major exhibition dedicated to the artistic rivalry of the three greatest Venetian painters. Titian, Tintoretto, and Veronese together created a body of work that defined a “Venetian style” through loose technique, rich coloring, and often pastoral or sensual subject matter. The exhibition includes approximately sixty paintings from important museums in Europe and the United States, as well as pictures that have remained over the years in the settings for which they were painted—churches of Venice.
The Fairmont Copley Plaza and Fairmont Battery Wharf each offer a Rivals of Venice Package. The package includes overnight accommodations and two VIP un-timed tickets to the exhibit. These special tickets give guests the flexibility to see the exhibit at their leisure and go right to the front of the line. This package is available through August 19, 2009. Rates at Fairmont Battery Wharf start at $399, and rates at The Fairmont Copley Plaza start at $259. Guests may also upgrade to Fairmont Gold, the brand’s exclusive lifestyle offering featuring private registration, complimentary breakfast and evening hors d’ouevres and an exclusive service staff for an additional $100 per night.
At The Fairmont Copley Plaza guests may upgrade to the Museum of Fine Arts Suite, a mini museum developed in conjunction with the museum’s archivist, for an additional $400 per night. Packages are based upon availability and exclusive of tax and gratuity. For reservations and additional information, please visit www.fairmont.com or call (800) 441-1414.
