June 15! , 2009 … Estes Park / Winter Park, Colo., … Imagine…joining your family and friends for a spectacular Fourth of July weekend in the very heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. YMCA Estes Park Center Fourth of July Activities:

Celebrate Fourth of July early! Estes Park Center will celebrate the birthday of this country with an incredible, festive and colorful parade, featuring special entries from the Estes Park Center Daycampers, Housekeeping’s Patriotic Mop Brigade and Jackson Stables Livery on July 3, starting at 10 a.m.  As always, free activities for guests include: mini-golf, guided hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park, indoor swimming, family games and activities, disc golf, wildlife watching, tennis, skate park, sand volleyball, museum and library.

 

Town of Estes Park Fourth of July Activities:

Visit “The Coolest Car Show” in the center of downtown Estes Park at Bond Park and check out vintage cars from the 1920s and beyond. Throughout the day, visitors are welcome to stop by the Fairgrounds at Stanley Park to watch the Arabian Sports Horse Championship, celebratin! g its 58th year of competition.

 

The musicians will be tuned up as the crowds turn out for the annual patriotic concert, featuring Village Band, at Performance Park Amphitheater. The Estes Park Jazz Big Band, Estes Park’s favorite jazz band, will play for the crowd earlier in the day as well. As the day comes to an end, enjoy an explosive light show over the banks of Lake Estes, deemed one of Colorado’s most brilliant fireworks displays.

YMCA Snow Mountain Fourth of July Activities:

! Celebrate this Fourth of July with a traditional American carnival.  Activities include face painting, plinko, balloon art, tie-dyeing, bean-bag tosses and many other traditional carnival games.  As always, free activities for guests include: mini-golf, guided hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park, indoor swimming, family games and activities, disc golf, wildlife watching, tennis, sand volleyball, historic Just Ranch tours, basketball and library.

 

Town of Winter Park Fourth of July Activities:

Start the day off with the Biggest Small Town Parade in Colorado. More than 100 entries make their way down the main street of Granby as children and adults alike applaud their arrival.

 

Whether you run, walk or mosey along, come join the fun from Winter Park Resort to the Town of Fraser during The Rendezvous Run for Indepen! dence, a 5-mile run/walk designed to be fun for all levels. The event raises money for the Scott Hughes Foundation, which provides camp scholarships to the YMCA of the Rockies for children with kidney disease.

 

Kick off the High Country Stampede Rodeo series from 7 – 9 p.m. at the John Work Arena in Fraser. The Junior Rodeo starts at 4 p.m., with the rodeo performance kicking off at 7 p.m. Enjoy western BBQ to eat, courtesy of the Sagebrush BBQ and Grill manning the Chuckwagon.

 

The Fraser Valley Fourth of July Celebration is a free community event that draws over 4,000 Grand County residents and guests throughout the course of the day. From late afternoon until evening, the Fraser Sports Complex bustles with family fun, including sporting games, kid’s activities, a community picnic and live music by The Informants. At sun! down, a spectacular fireworks display is the perfect finale to the festivities. A fireworks extravaganza will also be over Grand Lake, starting at dusk.
