TourCrafters Designs Food-Lovers' Package to Bologna

Libertyville, IL, June 22, 2009—TourCrafters has put together a 6-day/5-night fall package to Bologna that starts at only $1,109 and should thrill those who consider themselves "foodies."  Yes, historic Bologna has charming porticoed streets, medieval palaces, 12th-century towers, Renaissance art treasures and one of Europe's oldest universities.  However, its real attraction is its cucina, or cuisine, for Bologna is the culinary capital of Italy.

TourCrafters' package, valid from September 1 to November 30, includes the basics: round-trip air transportation on Alitalia from New York to Bologna, five nights' accommodation in the Hotel Orologio, buffet breakfast daily, service charges and taxes, a guided walking tour on Sunday and a free open-top sightseeing bus tour.  In addition, it provides a four-hour cooking course—with lunch—at La Vecchia Scuola Bolognese that focuses on pasta dishes (remember spaghetti Bolognese?).  And it includes a dinner at the celebrated Ristorante Cesari, about which one Trip Advisor reviewer raved, "the greatest Italian food I have ever eaten."

The small, charming and well-located 3-star Hotel Orologio is the hotel of choice for the basic price of $1,279 from September 1 to October 31 and $1,109 from November 1 to 30.  But hotel upgrades are available, right up to the elegant 4-star palace hotel Corona d'Oro, in the historic center, which costs $1,372 in September/October and $1,202 in November.  Add on air fares start at $20 from Boston, $75 from Miami and $75 from Chicago.

All prices quoted are per person, double occupancy, are subject to availability and do not include airport taxes of $110 and a fuel surcharge of $240, which are not included in the quoted price because they are subject to change by the airline.  Reservations must be paid for within 72 hours of booking.
