11-16-2007

San FranciscoNovember 15, 2007 The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, San Francisco is now welcoming Owners and Members to the property, as it opens its first phase of the building. From the moment it rose up in 1890 at the corner of Market and Kearny Streets as the nation’s first skyscraper west of the Mississippi, the Burnham & Root designed Chronicle Building became a landmark of the era. Now, after a $90 million transformation, it is the new home of The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, San Francisco, a 21st century showplace and pinnacle of luxurious city living with 57 private Residences and 44 fractional Club residences (at build-out). The opening marks the first urban property for the fractional ownership brand, The Ritz-Carlton Club.

The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, San Francisco is perfectly situated at 690 Market Street, providing residents with the opportunity to live at one of the city’s most celebrated addresses. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown, new Owners and Members are just steps away from fine dining, shopping in nearby Union Square, world-class exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, performances at the War Memorial Opera House, or sightseeing excursions to one of the city’s many iconic landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge.

“We are thrilled to begin welcoming Owners and Members to The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, San Francisco,” said Peter J. Watzka, executive vice president and chief operating officer, The Ritz-Carlton Development Company, LLC (an affiliate of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, LLC). “As The Ritz-Carlton Club’s first urban location, this opening is a significant milestone for our expanding portfolio.”

On November 1, the wholly-owned Residences became available for Owners to begin moving in, as well as a limited release of fractional Club residences. Residents are enjoying the 12th floor residents’ lounge featuring a fireplace and terrace, in addition to the beautifully-designed main lobby with a dedicated concierge team to assist Owners and Members with their individual needs. The fitness center and boardroom are targeted to open in 2008.

Featuring a valet-attended parking garage, this property offers two distinct home ownership options. The private ownership Residences range from one- to three-bedroom floor plans. Each are delivered with a choice of contemporary or traditional design finishes, inclusive of Viking and Miele appliances in the kitchen. Pricing starts at approximately $1.5 million.

An ideal solution for those who desire a home in this remarkable city, yet only need it part time, the fractional ownership residences offer Members a deeded interest that is commensurate with their intended use. The one-, two- and three-bedroom Club residences are elegantly appointed with custom furnishings, hardwood floors, gourmet kitchens and marble bathroom floors. Prices start at approximately $232,000 per interest.

In addition, Ritz-Carlton Club Members benefit from the convenience of a dedicated concierge staff providing services above and beyond traditional concierge duties, such as airport pick-up, pre-arrival provisioning of the residence, unpacking and pressing pre-sent garments, twice-daily housekeeping and arranging complete travel itineraries from dining reservations at the city’s five-star restaurants to tours of nearby Napa’s award-winning vineyards. Ritz-Carlton Residences Owners may also enjoy these services as requested.

The property is being co-developed by Alameda, Calif.-based, Hunter Group, and an affiliate of The Ritz-Carlton. Additionally, a prominent local firm, The Office of Charles F. Bloszies, was selected as the design architect and architect of record for the property.
