Once a month the Kansas Travel & Tourism Division distributes this brief newsletter, providing tourism updates throughout the state of Kansas. Highlights include a title, brief descriptor and a link for more details. Not all highlights will be of interest to everyone. They are simply intended to entice new story ideas in the areas of agritourism, outdoor, culinary, cultural, history, heritage and more.
State’s First Floatline Fishing Season Begins July 15: Fishing enthusiasts will be! able to participate in a pilot project this summer and fall, allowing floatline fishing at eight reservoirs in Kansas to include: Hillsdale, Council Grove, Tuttle Creek, Kanopolis, John Redmond, Toronto, Wilson, and Pomona. Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks staff recommended the addition of this fishing method to provide more angling opportunities on reservoirs with untapped channel catfish populations. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum Announces Exhibits Schedule: Beginning with the recently opened exhibit “The Gem on the Plains,” the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in Abilene has recently announced a series of fabulous exhibits including: The Working Whitehouse: 200 Years of Tradi! tion and Memories (March 20, 2010 – May 30, 2010); Holocaust (June 2010 – January 2011); and The White House Garden (February 19, 2011 – May 17, 2011).
