MANDARIN ORIENTAL HYDE PARK, LONDON PRESENTS THE BEST OF BRITISH

08-01-2009

Hong Kong, July 31, 2009 -- Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is celebrating all that is British this year with a suitably patriotic ‘Best of British’ program.  Guests are invited to join the ranks of luminaries and politicians past and present to experience London’s finest in style.

The package includes gift certificates to the world famous Harrods department store, located minutes from the hotel, full English breakfast in the Park restaurant, lunch in the Michelin-starred restaurant Foliage and complimentary entry to the prestigious Aspinalls club in nearby Mayfair, ordinarily priced at GBP1000 (USD 1,649).

Built in 1889 and a longstanding setting for numerous momentous occasions, from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s dancing lessons to former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s 80th birthday party, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is steeped in history.  The hotel even benefits from its very own ‘Royal Entrance’ overlooking leafy Hyde Park where access is permitted to guests only with the permission of the Royal Parks.

Just minutes away from the capital’s historic landmarks and cultural highlights, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is also ideally situated for exploring London’s main attractions.  The specially created Best of British package allows guests to explore the seven magnificent floors of the legendary Harrods department store followed by lunch at the hotel’s Foliage restaurant with a menu bursting with British classics and using only the finest of local ingredients.

The day ends with an evening at London’s premiere gaming establishment, Aspinalls, which counts Royalty and stars of stage and screen amongst its members.  Choose from Roulette, Blackjack or Three Card Poker in a welcoming ‘home from home atmosphere’ with personal service to match. A Bentley ride back to the hotel transports guests to a beautifully furnished room, lovingly prepared with Irish linen bed sheets, goose-down pillows, designer bathroom products and a fresh orchid. ‘Rule Britannia’ at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London.
