Travel Website Area Launches its First Digital Destination City Guide in September

08-01-2009

Whether traveling for pleasure or business, convenience, ease and in the know recommendations are usually high on the list for those on the go or visiting a destination for the first time or one that you visit often.  This September, Area, a website for the modern traveler, launches its first digital personal city guide accessible at the tip of your fingertips.

No more sifting through thousands of pages of ratings and recommendations or lugging around cumbersome, heavy guidebooks as you travel from city to city or country to country.  Area Guides provide real insider, up-to-the-minute information for the savvy traveler looking to immerse themselves in the culture and local vibe of a destination.  Think of it as having a well-connected friend who shows you all the secret spots and local favorites.

The first Area Guide destination Napa + Sonoma is a downloadable, digital guide with the latest information on where to sleep, eat, drink and play in the California Wine Country.  Unique to travel guides, live links allow you to get more current information at the click of a mouse, and book your hotel room, dinner reservations, and airport pickup direct from your laptop, iPhone or SmartPhone. Browsing is easy and the navigation bar allows you to jump directly to the section you’re looking for.  And for those who want something portable, print the guide out and bring it along with you.

By the end of 2009, Area will launch Area Guides in New York, Los Angeles and Miami with Boston and San Francisco to follow in 2010.  A preview of the Napa + Sonoma Area Guide is available by clicking: http://www.area-daily.com/NAPA-PREVIEW.pdf

As a means to inspire potential travelers with the essential elements for travel: sleep, eat and drink, play, events and must have services, Area launched the first daily email in January of 2007.  Tidbits from around the globe are delivered everyday to your inbox focusing on a local perspective giving travelers recommendations on non-touristy, unique, stylish and innovative ways to travel. The website also offers Area Valet, a personal travel service that customizes experiences tailored to your tastes and needs.  Readers can browse Area Archives for inspiration and recommendations from other travelers, share travel experiences and learn about the latest discounts and deals.  www.area-daily.com
