What's New for Winter at Smugglers' Notch Resort

11-20-2007

Smugglers' Notch Resort announces its 9th year of winning the #1 place in North America for Family Programs in the October 2007 survey by SKI magazine readers!

Smugglers' presents skiers and riders with still more glades this winter, bringing the Resort's total gladed area to over 45 acres and 22% of the total skiable and patrolled area.  Some of the new gladed terrain will be on skier's right of the venerable Doc Dempsey's trail on Madonna, a challenging area. The other locations are on Madonna between Liftline and Link; the third section is off Drifter above mid-station.

Snow Sport University (SSU) at Smugglers' offers the MAX5 program, a 2.5 hour ski or snowboard session with a maximum of five persons beginning at 9:45 am daily.  An afternoon 1.5 hour group session may be added for a combined four hours of learning with an SSU Pro!

The Little Rascals on Snow program offers parents the option to put their toddlers on snow at TREASURES child care center where a new 22-foot Magic Carpet lift has been installed in the center's playground for easily accessible sliding on snow.

Back Country Beaver Pond Trek is a new weekly snowshoe outing.  Guests join a guide on a two hour trek into the heart of the Notch, and look up from below Route 108 into the beauty and length of the gap's geology.

The FunZone shows off new inflatables: a giant obstacle course, a child's obstacle course, a fidget ladder, a crawl-through for the eight and under crowd and an indoor mini-golf course.  This indoor play area has been a hit with families since its creation eight years ago and its use is included in the Club Smugglers' Advantage Package.
