DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM’S “ST. CROIX FANTASTIC FLIGHT” RETURNS

~ Travelers to St. Croix receive more than $400 in savings with Fall promotion ~

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, August 31, 2009 – The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism’s St. Croix Fantastic Flight promotion is back, just in time for Labor Day weekend and the fall travel season.  Visitors who book between September 1 and October 5, 2009 for travel to St. Croix between September 1 and November 15, 2009 will receive a $150 per-person airfare credit and a fourth night free at participating hotels.

            St. Croix is a unique island with a rich culture and colorful past, as evidenced by its Danish architecture, historic landmarks, vibrant botanical attractions, diverse culinary landscape, music and traditions. Visitors may choose to explore Frederiksted – a town replete with historical significance, and embark on a culinary tour of Christiansted’s restaurants, visit the island’s museums and public gardens, or sail to Buck Island, one of the world’s best snorkeling spots.

            “We recognize that travelers are looking for value and an opportunity for a last-minute fall getaway, especially in the current economic environment,” said Tourism Commissioner Beverly Nicholson-Doty.  “We’re pleased to work with our airline and hotel partners to provide this attractive air and land package to one of the most unique islands in the Caribbean.”

            Hotels participating in the St. Croix Fantastic Flight promotion include:  The Buccaneer, Carambola Beach Resort & Spa, Chenay Bay Beach Resort, Club St. Croix Beach & Tennis Resort, Colony Cove Beach Resort, Company House Hotel, Divi Carina Bay Resort, Hibiscus Beach Resort, Hotel Caravelle, King Christian Hotel, The Palms at Pelican Cove and Sand Castle on the Beach.

            The package is based on double occupancy, applies to new bookings only and cannot be combined with other promotions. St. Croix Fantastic Flight must be booked through one of the following participating tour operators: AA Vacations, CheapCaribbean.com, Delta Vacations, Expedia, GoGo Worldwide Vacations and Travelocity.
