Hotel Unwraps “Kick ‘Em Off The Couch” And “Capitol Christmas” Packages, Providing The Gift Of Sanity For The Holiday Season

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sept. 16, 2009 – In anticipation of the upcoming holiday season, The Citizen Hotel is giving travelers the ability to fa la la their way to Sacramento to take advantage of exciting yuletide deals. The Kick 'Em Off The Couch package is a cost-effective way for locals to keep their own homes in-law free and help maintain some degree of seasonal sanity, while the Capitol Christmas package gives guests the best of both worlds – allowing them to check the last few items off of their shopping lists while treating themselves to some celebratory pampering.  Each package provides guests with more than a $70 value.

Born from The Citizen's recognition that not everyone wants a house full of guests during the holiday season, Kick 'Em Off The Couch gives locals a comfortable home away from home for their loved and perhaps not-so-loved ones. With rates starting at $194 on weekends and $264 on weekdays, the package is available from Nov. 23 through Dec. 31 and includes:

  • One night of deluxe accommodations in a king, queen or double room
  • One night valet parking with in and out privileges
  • A Citizen martini shaker and coupon redeemable for a complimentary drink at the hotel bar for those who need to calm their nerves before a family event
  • One seasonal pie from Grange, Sacramento's premiere restaurant destination, to pass off as your own at the holiday dinner. (We won't tell where it came from if you don't...)

With rates starting at $189, the Capitol Christmas package is available on weekends between Nov. 27 through Dec. 24 and includes:

  • One night of deluxe accommodations in a king, queen or double room
  • One night valet parking with in and out privileges
  • Breakfast at Grange
  • A map and discount coupons to local shopping destinations
  • An eco-friendly shopping bag
  • Free gift wrapping
  • Relax and unwind at our Complimentary Wine Hour (Mon – Thurs only), after a long day of retail therapy

Especially of note over the holiday season, giving back to the community is a year-round initiative for The Citizen and Joie de Vivre Hotels, who manage the property. Striving to have a positive local impact, each hotel participates in the You Can Make A Difference program. Launched in April 2008, the program engages guests by giving them the opportunity to add an additional $1 to each night of their stay, which is then donated to a local charity. The Citizen Hotel donates to the Child Abuse Prevention Center, whose mission is to protect children throughout Sacramento County from the risk or impact of abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
