GO GREEN AND SAVE GREEN

DENVER, September 21, 2009 – From now through the end of the year, Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco Denver is making meetings even more green, while helping meeting planners save some green at the same time.  From deep discounts and heavy incentives to the implementation of significant eco-friendly practices, now is the time to plan a customized meeting at the Hotel Monaco Denver.

Recognizing that even while budgets are shrinking, businesses’ productivity expectations haven’t; the Hotel Monaco Denver is offering many ways to customize the amenities and discounts available to meeting planners who book a meeting at the Hotel Monaco Denver, including these incredible incentives:

• 15-20% commission for meeting planners (raised from 10%) for groups booking 10 or more rooms.• Option to replace a standard welcome amenity in each guest room with a note that gives guests the unique opportunity to raid the mini-bar, where costs are included in the meeting package.
• Airfare (up to $400) covered for the meeting planner, when booking a group of 25 or more.
• Extra special savings: take 10-15% off the master bill when booking a meeting during a slow period.

The Hotel Monaco Denver’s green standards have been expanded even further to its industry-leading meeting practices:

  • All bottled water is U.S. sourced.
  • All meetings include water served in pitchers with reusable glassware.
  • All sales collateral, meeting notepad! s and coasters are made of 100% recycled paper.
  • All napkins are made of cloth or recycled paper.
  • Paperless services: electronic distribution of sales proposals, catering menus and banquet event orders.
  • Internal paperless standards: all group information is emailed prior to staff meetings.
  • Every event includes a recycling bin for paper.
  • At least four organic tea options are available at all coffee stations.
  • Plastic or wood stirrers are eliminated and replaced with reusable spoons.
  • Styrofoam or disposable cups are eliminated and replaced with reusable cups and mugs.
  • Individually packaged condiments are eliminated and replaced with large containers.
  • Plastic silverware in boxed lunches is replaced with recycled plastic ware and to-go lunches are packaged in recycled paper bags or bio-pak boxes.

“Our group clients often seek out the Hotel Monaco Denver because of our progressive brand-wide EarthCare program and commitment to non-profit partners such as The Trust for Public Land,” said Von de Luna, General Manager at the Hotel Monaco Denver.  “And with these limited-time incentives, it will be even easier for meeting planners to plan their meeting with us.”

The Hotel Monaco Denver’s sustainable initiatives date back to the hotel’s opening in 1998 and the company-wide practices include several industry firsts such as in-room recycling bins and the use of non-toxic cleaners brand-wide.  !
