Pocono Manor, Pennsylvania, October 2009 ... The Inn at Pocono Manor has announced a holiday celebration unlike anything ever before seen in the Pocono Region:  A Magical Fireside Christmas.  The yuletide celebration at the circa 1902 property -- the oldest continuously operating resort in the Poconos and one of the oldest in North America -- will be open to the public and take place all season long at the historic inn, kicking off Thanksgiving Weekend.  A Magical Fireside Christmas will appeal to the “child” within every visitor while providing countless Christmas festivities and holiday activities for guests of every age.  The spectacular event will open to the public Thanksgiving Day and remain open weekends through December 27, 2009.  Admission is complimentary and activity tickets will be available for purchase at just $1 per ticket.   The Inn at Pocono Manor is providing a special Magical Fireside Christmas Overnight Package for a family of four from $148* per guestroom throughout the celebration. 

The Magical Fireside Christmas experience will begin the moment visitors enter the century-old resort’s drive.  Here they’ll be surrounded by sparkling holiday trees lining the drive up to The Inn at the top of the mountain where guests will be greeted by a dazzling array of Christmas finery, lighting and holiday music.   In the distance will the sounds of sleigh bells jingling.  The yuletide adventure will continue in The Inn at Pocono Manor’s charming Fireside Lodge with its massive stone fireplaces and historic arts & crafts interiors adorned with glittering holiday decorations.  The stately lodge will be transformed into a Christmas vision of Sugarplum splendor with immense seasonal charm and holiday warmth.  Interactive family activities will include holiday ornament making and Christmas cookie decorating as well as storytellers recalling tales of Christmas’ past.  An Old World Santa will transported straight from the Victorian Era to hold court and dispense Christmas wisdom to girls and boys, moms and dads, while discovering who’s naughty and nice.  Santa family photos will be welcomed and encouraged, and family portrait opportunities will be available.

The Christmas Celebration continues outside on the Fireside Lodge grounds with holiday music streaming across the twinkling mountain-top while loved ones snuggle by an open hearth making Christmas S’mores.  Outside there will be live animals for children to visit, and a magical train for children to ride.  Even an old-fashioned horse-drawn wagon will be on hand for holiday excursions. 

The Inn’s main building, itself splendidly decorated with Christmas finery, will feature glowing century-old fireplaces, gingerbread houses, and steaming hot chocolate with peppermint sticks – perfect for warming up after enjoying the winter wonderland outside.  The Inn’s renowned Exchange Restaurant, located just off the lobby, will feature specially-created holiday-themed menus, ideal for families and all guests. 

For those who wish to extend the Magical Fireside Christmas celebration, The Inn at Pocono Manor is providing a special overnight package for a family of four from $148* per guestroom.  The package includes a hearty breakfast, elf turn down service, activity tickets, a family holiday gift, snacks during the evening, and all taxes and gratuities.  Guests can make their stay even more festive with special package additions such as a personal Christmas tree to decorate in their guest room, luxuriant spa treatments especially for busy moms, and much more.
