GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE CELEBRATES NEW LEVELS OF LUXURY

12-02-2009

Luxury Vacation Experience Continues to Grow in Greater Fort Lauderdale with The Ritz-Carlton,

Fort Lauderdale, the First AAA Five Diamond Award Recipient in Broward County

GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – December 2, 2009 – Greater Fort Lauderdale’s hospitality industry continues to thrive with upscale hotel openings, completed renovations and new lodging developments, all contributing to its reputation as a world-class beachfront destination. Now the destination has reached new levels of luxury with the first hotel in Broward County to receive the prestigious AAA Five-Diamond award: The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale.

“For The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale to receive such a celebrated award that symbolizes true excellence in the hospitality industry is a great achievement,” said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. “To have a AAA Five Diamond award-winning hotel in the destination is a mark of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s continued transformation and is representative of the high levels of service and quality we offer our visitors.”

The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale debuted in August 2008 on the Fort Lauderdale Beachfront, just steps from the Atlantic Ocean.  The dramatically tiered 24-story hotel is reminiscent of a grand luxury liner, and offers 192 guest rooms and suites all with water views, plus 24,000 square feet of sun-filled meeting space. The hotel was AAA’s only choice for its prestigious Five Diamond award in the Fort Lauderdale hotel segment.

The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale is also a member of the Lauderdale Luxe Collection, featuring the destination’s best in-market hotels and resorts.
