Bermuda’s New Tucker’s Point Hotel & Spa Unveils Unforgettable Christmas and New Year’s Packages

BERMUDA – Dec. 3, 2009 – Bermuda’s first new resort in nearly 40 years, Tucker’s Point Hotel & Spa will celebrate its first holiday season in style with a pair of Christmas and New Year’s packages steeped in tradition and sophistication. With its spectacular views of Castle Harbour and Harrington Sound, the luxurious new waterfront hotel affords an unforgettable island setting for a holiday spent with family and cherished friends.

Four days filled with holiday festivities and gourmet delights comprise the Christmas Package 2009. It begins December 23 with a wine and cheese tasting hosted by the hotel’s sommelier, Stephane Guillot. Held in the Gallery, the tasting will feature a selection of old world and new world wines paired with a dozen cheeses from across the globe. On Christmas Eve, award-winning Chef Serge Bottelli will lead guests in a cooking lesson featuring easy, elegant recipes for New Year’s Eve, followed by a wine tasting.

On Christmas Day, eggnog and traditional holiday cocktails will be served in Tuckers Bar at 1 p.m., followed by a sumptuous Christmas luncheon at The Point, complete with a visit from Santa bearing gifts for everyone. Among the highlights of the gourmet menu will be a pumpkin truffle soup, herb and apple cider roast turkey with all the trimmings, and an almond-crusted Hudson Valley duck breast with tangerine-peppercorn sauce. Desserts will include a warm Christmas pudding with bourbon crème anglaise, a chestnut mousse Yule log, and a cranberry and pecan tart with Grand Marnier cream and caramel ice cream.

The English tradition of Boxing Day will be celebrated at Tucker’s Point with cocktails and finger foods.

The four-night Christmas Package is $2,300 per room, including all of the activities mentioned and four nights’ accommodations as well as breakfast daily. Taxes and gratuities are additional.

Tuckers Point guests are also invited to usher in 2010 with a highly memorable New Year’s Package, available December 30 through January 2. Guests can select from two exceptional New Year’s Eve celebrations. Option One includes Moet & Chandon cocktails and canapés at Tuckers Bar, followed by a six-course candlelit dinner at The Point and a Ballroom gala complete with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot and dancing to the Ronnie Lopes Band, an island favorite. Option Two takes the festivities to the Golf Club House. A Bellini cocktail reception at the The Grille Room & Bar will be followed by a buffet dinner and DJ in the Clubhouse Ballroom. A relaxed, in-room breakfast follows on New Year’s Day, complete with eggs benedict, fresh fruits, Viennese pastries, and a Tylenol travel package to ease the effects of the previous night’s revelry.

Guests will also enjoy a welcome amenity that includes a make-your-own Dark & Stormy set, a traditional Bermuda rum cake and a selection of cheeses and fruits. A cooking class led by Chef Serge on January 2 will offer tips on creating a delectable dinner from holiday leftovers.

For guests who choose Option One, the New Year’s Package is $2,540 per room. The Option Two package is $2,170 per room. Daily breakfast is included. Taxes and gratuities are additional.

Tucker’s Point will also provide guests with a $400 Gift Card per room when they choose to take advantage of both the Christmas package and a New Years Eve package.
