NEW WEDDINGMOON PACKAGE FOR BRIDES ON A BUDGET AT THE PLANTERS INN

CHARLESTON, S.C., Dec. 14, 2009 – Planters Inn, one of the South’s most acclaimed hotels and South Carolina’s only member of Relais & Chateaux, has developed a one-stop shop Weddingmoon Package for budget-conscious brides.  The highly-customized experience is carefully planned with the hotel’s expert staff who together offer more than 30 years of bridal planning experience in a city consistently ranked as one of the top wedding destinations across the country.

The all-encompassing weddingmoon, a combination wedding and honeymoon, is otherwise known as a destination wedding.  Industry research indicates that destination weddings, in particular, are growing in popularity with 16 percent of the $120 billion American bridal market opting to take their nuptials on the road.

“We’re seeing a real trend for 2010 with couples booking intimate destination weddings with an average of 25 guests,” said Christy Loftin, director of sales and marketing at Planters Inn.  “The booking window is also shorter and in some cases, events have turned around in five or six weeks from the time of inquiry.”  Loftin is also a certified professional wedding coordinator and member of the Association of Bridal Consultants.

The Weddingmoon Package at Planters Inn combines a charming city setting with the exclusivity and personalization of one of Charleston’s premier hotels.  The package includes:

·         Wedding officiate

·         Bridal bouquet and Groom’s boutonnière

·         Ceremony music (typically string trio or quartet)

·         Photographer

·         All venue rental fees for both the ceremony and the reception

·         All-inclusive, three-hour reception including: food and beverage courtesy of the award-winning Peninsula Grill restaurant,  personal flowers, DJ and/or band

·         Wedding night suite accommodations for the bride and groom

Rates for the Weddingmoon Package at Planters Inn start at $5,000 plus tax and gratuity for a total of 25 guests.  An optional private carriage ride for the bride and groom can also be added for an additional $425.  Guest accommodations are additional.
