SIGNIFICANT SAVINGS IN ECONOMY CLASS

FOR MATMID FREQUENT FLYER CLUB  MEMBERS

 

EL AL, Israel’s national airline, is now offering EL AL Matmid frequent flyer club members a variety of new options for flying to Israel this winter. The special Hanukah roundtrip economy class fare (including all fuel surcharges and taxes) is $849, plus 150 Matmid points on nonstop flights from New York (JFK/Newark) and $1249 plus 150 Matmid points from Los Angeles (on the only nonstop flights between the West Coast and Israel). This promotion is available for travel on EL AL now through March 23, 2010. Tickets must be issued by EL AL and purchased before December 31, 2009.

 

Additionally, another promotion now offered to EL AL Matmid frequent flyers is the opportunity to exchange up to 25% less points for a (free) economy class bonus ticket, when traveling before March 19, 2010. From New York (JFK/Newark), 1050 points are now required, as compared to the previous value of 1400. From Los Angeles, 1400 Matmid points are necessary, as compared to the previous 1800 necessary points.

EL AL Matmid members can earn bonus points toward free tickets and upgrades via EL AL partners which include American Airlines, American Express Membership Rewards®, a variety of international hotel chains and car rental companies, plus many more.  In addition, EL AL Matmid points can be donated to such organizations as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Chai Lifeline and the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Israel.  EL AL also offers a special frequent flyer club for children called “Matmid Kids” where children (under the age of 12) earn the same number of frequent flyer points as adults, even though their roundtrip ticket is discounted (up to 50% off most published adult fares). EL AL is also the only airline with a pet frequent flyer club for travel to Israel.  After traveling on three roundtrip flights within a three-year period, pets earn a free roundtrip flight.
