AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (January 28, 2010) – The Amelia Island Book Festival (AIBF) will open its 2010 edition on Friday, February 12, luring readers and writers alike to the popular Florida island destination.  A number of the island’s award-winning hotels, resorts and inns are offering special discounted rates during the festival.  
Featuring two days of programming and events celebrating the written word, AIBF is a favorite event for families, with something for even the littlest readers.  The festival opens Friday with a day-long Writers’ Workshop followed by an evening Story and Song Concert.  Saturday’s free events and activities include an author bookstore, presentations, food booths and more.  On Saturday evening the festival presents a special event with best-selling author Pat Conroy and his daughter, Melissa.  More than 30 local, regional and nationally renowned authors will sign books and offer programs on a wide variety of topics.
