FREE European Cruise Sweepstakes

05-06-2010

Fodor's Launches "TO EUROPE!" Summer Campaign Offering Curated European Itineraries & FREE European Cruise Sweepstakes

Travel experts say this is the year of the European (travel) Renaissance! American's are going back across the pond! European hotel bookings and occupancy are up 4.5% since February 2009. European flight traffic is up 3.9%. And with the economy back on the mend, it's no surprise that American's are once again heading out to the iconic cities and landscapes of Europe.

With the amount of visitors on the rise, Fodor's announces "TO EUROPE!" - a first-of-its-kind itinerary-based online tool offering potential European travelers everything from trip inspiration and planning, to on-the-ground logistics.  "TO EUROPE!" will help travelers, from the intrepid to the highly experienced, get all the information and inspiration they'll need to choose, plan, and book their European vacation from the big cities to the not-to-be-missed lesser know towns and sites.

And Fodor's is offering a HUGE bonus - a chance to win a FREE European cruise vacation provided by Viking River Cruises!!! Starting May 10, you can sign up at: http://www.fodors.com/to-europe/

Fodor's TO EUROPE!, runs from May 10th to June 28th, 2010, and allows users a personalized experience. Itineraries are sortable both by experience, allowing users to drill down based on individual interests like architecture, wine, or history, and by country.

Fodor's spokesperson Rachel Klein will discuss the many features of TO EUROPE! Including:
•Over 60 itineraries: Sorted by country or experience, itineraries derive straight from editorial recommendations and are not
                commercially biased.
•Travel logistics: Transportation recommendations, from plane, train, boat, and car, guide travelers from one itinerary destination to
the next, including estimated travel times and nearest major airports.
•Photo slideshows: Destinations photographs, both editorial and user-generated, give travelers a visual sense of place.
•Community involvement: Word of mouth quotes taken from our Fodor's forums and community members offer on-the-ground advice for each
                itinerary.
•Social media campaign: Promotion collaborations with Twitter and Facebook followers

The TO EUROPE! promotion follows the model initiated by Fodor's "80 DEGREES" warm weather vacation promotion which ran from January 11- February 28, 2010. During this time, fodors.com saw a 24% increase in traffic for the website from same month comparisons to 2009.  http://www.fodors.com/to-europe
