Holiday Season Celebrations in Lake Placid
12-07-2007
It’s that time of year again! Everyone is gearing up for the holiday season around the country and the village of Lake Placid will be offering numerous activities and events for the whole family to enjoy.
For three weeks in December, the Village of Lake Placid will ring in the holiday season with events and festivities. Relive your most cherished holiday memories and make some new ones at the Holiday Splendor celebration.
Adirondack celebrations have been around for generations and the Holidays are no exception. There are the requisite visits with Santa in Mids Park, but Lake Placid puts its own special touch on its events. Don’t miss the Holiday Concerts and Sing Along, or the Bell Ringer Concert and of course the High School Chorus Concert. No Lake Placid celebration would be complete without world class sporting events so be sure to stop by Mt. Van Hoevenberg for the FIBT World Cup Bobsled and Skeleton Training week or Whiteface Mountain for two days of USSA Ski Racing.
Couples and families are welcome as this is the perfect time of year for that winter getaway. Aside from the festivities Lake Placid will host the great activities it is famous for like great skiing at Whiteface Mountain and skating at the Olympic Oval located near downtown. In addition, great cross country skiing and snowshoeing is located just minutes from downtown in a variety of locations.
